Gabe's Birthday

Saturday evening we celebrated Gabe’s birthday with a BBQ and of course as per family tradition an ice cream cake. Happy (really late) Birthday Gabe!

Backyard Saturday ft. Logie Perogie

Saturday we spent the day just relaxing outside with fabulous friends, tasty daquaris, and some splish splashing in the pool!
Tara and I were greatly amused at how big diapers can get when they absorb water as much water as they possibly can… very realistic feeling weren’t they Tara? Hahahaha!
And with only one minor poop incident (well I didn’t think it was minor but I may have overreacted) the pool was a big hit. When the two of them sat on the side of the pool Logan would bounce and Ella got to go along for the ride. I’m pretty sure they liked bouncing more than being in the actual pool!

Day 253

A baby that isn’t mine… but she’s just as cute!

How I View Summer Life

I think I’m almost recovered from Ella’s first birthday party! No one tells you how much work those things are before you have kids!!! (blog to come later!)
But its time for another “How I View…” blog circle with my lovely ladies from Clickin’ Moms. This month’s theme was Summer Life.
It would be completely appropriate to post a picture of a puddle of sweat as we’ve been having unusually hot weather. Of which I am not a fan- I couldn’t live in those places that are constantly hot. I’m counting down the days til fall as it is!
So what better way to cool off than in a pool. Excuse our pathetic little pool as we have no hose and had to haul the water out from the kitchen sink. We got the thing halfway filled up and said “eh, good enough!”.
Ella loved it though, splashed like crazy!

One

I just spent the last half hour rocking my sick little girl, a very rare occurance. As I looked down at her head laying against my chest I realized that was the same view I had exactly a year ago today. A tiny new being taking her first breaths as the two of us got to know each other in a quiet gentle way. There is nothing like those first few hours with your newborn. But the snuggles of  one year old come pretty close to matching that feeling. Happy 1st Birthday Ellabean.
